Making Advent Fun!

To make this a fun experience with your family, set a time each day to use the advent calendar as a family devotional, read the verse, ask questions, and give a piece of candy to each person that participates.

Join us in being intentional this Christmas and show His love to the world! Consider planning one intentional family activity each week to “live out” Christ’s love to others.

Remember you don't have to do them all. Please check back next week for NEW ideas.

  • Genesis 3:8-19 & 1 Timothy 1:15

Being Intentional:  Encouragement for Our Troops

Write an encouraging letter or card for our deployed US soldiers to be received in the new year. Drop off your letter or card sealed in an envelope at the church and we will send them all out together.

  • Romans 1:18

Being Intentional:  Set Up a Nativity in Your Home

Take some time today to set up a nativity in your home. If you have children or grandchildren, allow them to help you. Have them tell or act out the story as you set up the pieces.

  • Hebrews 9:26

    Being Intentional:  DIY Advent Wreath

Make your own advent wreath and light a candle each Sunday leading up to Christmas. You will need 4-5 candles, greenery and a little creativity. Have fun and make it unique or keep it simple, you decide. Each candle symbolizes a word: hope, love, joy, peace. If you choose to also light a candle on Christmas Eve or Christmas, this candle symbolizes Christ.

  • John 3:16-17

Being Intentional:  Meet Up With Someone From Church

Meet up with someone from church maybe for coffee, lunch or a walk in the park. We are not designed to do this life on our own, especially during the holidays. Meeting up with someone from church can put into perspective the truth of the gospel and fill our hearts with joy.

  • Hebrews 1:1-2

Being Intentional:  Take a Walk With God

Take a walk in your neighborhood, through the park or anywhere you like and then contemplate all God has done in your life this year! End with praising Him for all he has brought to your mind.
