Making disciples who love God, love His church, and show His love to the world!
Missions & Outreach
Since Shiloh's conception over 25 years ago, we have always been a missions-minded church in our support of God's work around the globe. In 2001, God impressed on our hearts a desire to go beyond where we had been concerning our church's involvement in making disciples of all nations. Since that time, we have prayerfully written out and put into practice what we believe God has given us as our core values and beliefs for missions.
Core Values
A Sending Church
We desire to educate and mobilize people from within our body to become indigenous long-term cross cultural missionaries, to send and support them in a significant way financially, though prayer, and in any other way that will make them effective in their ministry.Holistic Ministry
Our ministries must reflect Christ’s redemptive concern for all things, and to minister to the whole person (spiritual, physical and social).Transformational Ministry
God's word transforms people, families, communities, and nations. We desire to see the worldwide church live in obedience to His powerful word and to see every sphere of society transformed by His power.Partnership
We are not building our castle, but God's Kingdom. Effective partnerships with organizations and churches who are in alignment with our core values will multiply our efforts in discipling the nations for Christ.Prayer
Prayer is essential to fulfilling God's purposes. We will only see His purposes fulfilled through us as we diligently pray for Him to do it.
Core Beliefs
- We believe that Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (Matthew 28:18)
-
We believe that Christ's primary agenda is to glorify God by advancing His Kingdom through making disciples of all nations. (Matthew 6:9-10; 28:18-20)
- We believe that Christ's key agent in this task is the local church. (Ephesians 3:9-11)
- We believe that nations are discipled as the church makes the invisible Kingdom visible by faithful obedience to God's Word throughout culture—in every area of life, and every sphere of society, including the family, the community, the arts, sciences, media, law, government, schools and businesses. (Colossians 1:15-18)
- We believe that to accomplish this task, the ministry of the church must be holistic—reflecting Christ's redemptive concern for "all things." Holistic ministry is ministry to the whole person (spiritual, physical and social) and all of their relationships (with God, with others and with the environment.) (Colossians 1:19-20)
- We believe that to accomplish this task, the ministry of the church must be solidly based on God's inspired infallible, powerful and authoritative Word as recorded in the Bible. We believe that the discipleship of nations requires that Christ's followers allow the biblical worldview to enlighten every area of their lives, and carry it outward into every sphere of their society. (John 17:17)
- We believe that prayer and seeking God's will are essential to fulfilling his purposes. We believe that we can do nothing in our own strength, but when we seek the Lord’s will and purpose in our hearts to carry out his plans and relinquish our lives to the control of the Holy Spirit, then we can accomplish much. (John 15:5)
