Making disciples who love God, love His church, and show His love to the world!
Our History
In 1982, Pastor Tom Garasha, motivated by his love for God and others, moved to Phoenix from the mid-west with the vision to plant a church in Paradise Valley. Working four part-time jobs and trusting God to meet his needs, he started a small Bible study group which grew and was eventually incorporated as Paradise Valley Evangelical Free Church in November, 1983. Worship services were held in an elementary school until a campus was purchased in 1992 on Hearn Street, just east of 32nd Street.
In 1990, due to construction of State Route 51, our present location was acquired and the building of our current facilities began. Along with our move in 1992, came a new operating name, Shiloh Community Church. This name was born from Pastor Tom’s desire that Shiloh be more than just a building where people gathered to worship, but rather a place of rest, peace and reconnection with God and each other. Over the years, God has blessed that desire and many have found peace, refuge and restoration within this community that we call Shiloh.
It has been our desire at Shiloh to connect with the community in a way that demonstrates our love for Jesus Christ through our love for others, and to see the church expand into other areas of North Phoenix. For years we’ve hosted events within our community that give us the opportunity to reach out to them. We’ve planted three churches in North Phoenix, and started a Hispanic Church that currently meets on our campus. In 2004, in an effort to continue to reach out, we built a Community Center and gymnasium on our campus that provides both activities and a meeting place for the community.
In the fall of 2006, after more than 30 years of pastoral ministry with the church, Pastor Tom accepted an opportunity to minister to the needs of pastors throughout the state of Arizona and California. Pastor Eric Dalrymple, having served as an Associate Pastor at Shiloh for 10 years, accepted the role of Lead/Senior Pastor of the church with Pastor Jason West serving as the Preaching Pastor. Our pastors function together as a team in alignment with their spiritual giftedness. Looking into the future, our purpose is clear. We desire to make disciples who love God, love His church, and who show His love to the world. For more information about our purpose, click here.
